Thomas served in the Navy, where he acquired his aircraft maintenance skills, which he later applied during his career as an Inspector at Boeing Aircraft Company. He is survived by his daughters, Ann Collins-Dufield, Vicky Collins, and Pamela Collins; and his son, John Collins, all of Wichita. His sister, Patsy Bryant of Van Buren, Arkansas; and his brother, Jim Collins of Apache Junction, Arizona.
