Thomas (Tom) Johnson, 82 of Casa Grande, AZ (formerly of Wichita, KS), died on March 18, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. Thomas William Johnson was born November 2, 1938, in Kansas City, MO,. to William L. and Gladys Stewart. His mother remarried and his stepfather Leslie Johnson adopted him. He joined the Navy, after serving he drove big rig trucks all over the country. He then managed a service station in Ruskin Heights, MO. He rode as a reserve for the Olathe, KS Police Department and ended up joining the department as a police officer. He transferred over to the Johnson County Kansas Sherriff's office. His last position was an investigator for the State of Kansas, Department Revenue. He enjoyed reading, traveling, camping, and riding his motorcycle. He was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. He enjoyed being an associate member of the Retired Wichita Police Officers Association and the weekly coffees and the many friends he met. He belonged to the Patriot Guard Association and the Blue Knights Chapter IV of Northwest Iowa. He loved riding his motorcycle with these two organizations. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and grandchildren, and always had a story to tell. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Deborah, his son Edward (Margaret) Johnson, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and his fur baby Max. He is preceded in death by his son, Thomas Mitchell Johnson, his brother David Johnson and his parents. Service to be held Saturday, June 19, 2021, 11:00am at Resthaven Mortuary and Gardens of Memory.
