Vernon was united in marriage on December 12, 1981 to Leonda Johnson in Wichita, Kansas. He is a member of the Baha'i Faith. He enjoyed fishing, camping, fixing up houses, and spending time with friends and family. He worked in the general fields of plumbing and electrical. He also worked as maintenance in large apartment complexes until he became disabled in 1995.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
He is survived by his wife Leonda, three children, one brother, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
A graveside service for Vernon will be held Friday, April 22, 2022 from 1:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
