

Victoria Ann “Vicki” Smith, 69, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer.
Born on September 22, 1956, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Vicki lived a life full of laughter, adventure, love, and deep connection with the people around her. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business and built a successful career as an HR specialist in the aerospace industry, where she was respected for her intelligence, dedication, and genuine care for others.
Vicki embraced life to the fullest and had a personality that naturally drew people in. She deeply cared about her friends and family and had a gift for making everyone around her feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Her laughter was contagious, her spirit vibrant, and her presence unforgettable.
She especially loved golfing and proudly celebrated several hole-in-ones throughout her life, often enjoying the challenge of beating the men on the course. Beyond golf, Vicki loved traveling the world, gathering around a poker table with friends, spending time with loved ones, and cheering on her grandchildren. Some of her happiest moments were simply being surrounded by family and friends, laughing together and making memories.
Vicki is survived by her daughter, Kalene Hoffmann and son-in-law Craig Hoffmann; her daughter, Emily Combs and son-in-law Cameron Combs; and her beloved grandchildren, Smith Combs, Winnie Combs, and Fletcher Combs. She is also survived by her brothers, Steve Nemmers and Jim Nemmers; as well as an extensive family of nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family members, and countless dear friends who loved her deeply.
She was preceded in death by Allan Smith; her father, Donald Nemmers; her mother, Beverly Nemmers Thrall; her stepfather, William Thrall; her brother, Michael Nemmers; and her sister, Deborah Valenta.
Vicki also leaves behind her beloved Siamese cat, Eli.
Those who knew Vicki will remember her as someone who truly lived — someone who loved fiercely, laughed often, traveled freely, and treasured the people closest to her heart. Her warmth, humor, adventurous spirit, and unconditional love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Funeral Service for Vicki will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, with visitation an hour prior at Lakeview Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in the Garden of Prayer, 12100 East 13th Street, Wichita, Kansas 67206
