Virgil "Ken" Kenneth Richards

Virgil "Ken" Kenneth Richards, 77, passed away on May 18, 2019. He was born in Sylvan Grove, KS to parents, Raymond and Martha Richards. Ken was a Navy veteran who served in Vietnam, a member of the American Legion Post 359 in Sylvan Grove, lifetime member of the NRA, founder of the LVAD Friends KS OKC & MO Support Group, a volunteer counselor with Stephen Ministries, and an avid hunter and fisherman. He is preceded by his parents; brother, Bill Richards; sister, Dee Von Fange; daughter, Dee Engstrom; son, Jimmy Dee Richards; and granddaughter, Kenadee Williams. Ken is survived by his wife, Dorothy Richards; sister, Evelyn Hammond; sons, Norman Porter, Robert Porter (Heather), Jeff (Carla) Richards and Joseph (Juliet) Richards; daughters, Janelle (Charles) Barclay, Jennefer (Everett) Milan, Sarah (Conan) Reaves, Misty (Allen) Reed, Kelly (Shawn) and Susan (Micah); grandchildren, Tyler Porter, Alexis Porter, Logan Porter, Luke Porter, Arthur (Shanna) Barclay, Joshua (Misty) Barclay, Michael Barclay, Natasha Barclay, Patrick Barclay, Kenneth Richards, Cody Richards, Kaylin Richards, Nathaniel Richards, Joseph Richards, Jr., Blayz Hammond, Salym Soderholm, Carrie Williams, Breezi Crawford, Audrie Crawford, Liz Stoner, Sunshine Blais, Kile Wylie, Bruce Wylie, Ethan Sutton, Craig Mead, Paris Mead, Damon Mead, Dominik Mead, Leilah Mead and Kevin Mead; great-grandchildren, Kadaan Barclay, Gavin Barclay, Gabriella Barclay, Kenadee Chrans, Hazel Chrans, Eli CHrans, Beatrix Hall, MacKenzie Barclay, Tasha, Alyssa, Isabella, Madison, Eathon Sutton, Collin Sutton, Kris Sutton, Nik Sutton, and Jesika Sutton; great-great-grandchild, Kason, Christian. A visitation and viewing will be Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 5-7 pm at Resthaven Mortuary and a Celebration of Life will be held 3pm, Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Berean Baptist Church in Wichita, KS. A graveside service with military honors will be held 3pm, Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the Sylvan Grove City Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life with family and friends immediately following at the Lutheran Church in Sylvan Grove, KS.
