Vivian was born in Columbia, Mo and raised in Manhattan, KS through High school, attending Manhattan High School.
She met her “husband to be” as he ran up the stairs, of the high school for the first time. He was the new good looking and athletic student, she heard everyone talking about. They married young and had a daughter and 2 sons within 3 years and added to the family 11 years following with another son. She was a working mom helping support her husband and family.
She loved people and they loved her while working at Varneys Campus Bookstore at Kansas State University, Barnes Flowers in Kansas City and then two decades working in banking when they lived in Littleton, CO, Slidell, LA and finally Wichita. She retired in her 70’s from Intrust Bank opening new accounts and safe deposits making many long standing friends.
She loved the sun, the pool, the beach and shopping. Of her many loves, shopping was her favorite. Just ask her friends at Talbots. She had just the right look for any event, whether it be sporty, classic or elegant. She answered to Babe by her husband, Viv, Mom, Mimi and Grandma and we will always love her and remember how she loved us.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert A. Hanson and her sons Robert J Hanson of California and Stewart Hanson of Wichita.
