Waldo Santander

He was born on December 16, 1960 to Waldo C. and Liliana E. Santander in Chuquicamata, Chile. His family emigrated to the United States in 1963. When he was in seventh grade, he proudly became a United States citizen and loved his country.

He graduated from North High School in 1979 and was still connected with his friends from school. He owned and operated W and W Dental Lab which was founded by his father.

He was an avid golfer and was on the course any chance he could. He met his wife Cyd Tinkler while they both worked at Beech Aircraft in 1981. They had a wonderful life together until her death in 2014. A few days after Cyd passed, he accomplished a hole-in-one and was convinced Cyd had something to do with it. He loved to entertain at his home where he hosted many family gatherings.

He will be remembered by his humor and orneriness. Waldito, as his family lovingly called him, was a loving son, brother, uncle, great-uncle, friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his sisters, Lilita Santander and Patty Rogers (Randy); niece, Sarah Garner (Zack Gnapp); nephew, Joey Rogers; great-nieces, Cambria and Emmy Rogers, and Londyn Gnapp; and great-nephew, Nick Garner, with whom he had a very special relationship; along with numerous cousins, aunts and uncles in the United States and Chile.

A visitation for Waldo will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM, both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209,.
