She was born on October 2, 1930, in Marshall, Arkansas, and later resided in Wichita, Kansas, where she built a life centered on family, dedication, and enduring love.
Wanda was called home the morning of January 30, 2026, after her final days were spent surrounded by her loved ones, a gentle and fitting farewell for a woman whose life was devoted to caring for others.
She was employed at Fourth National Bank for 20 years, where she was known for her reliability, professionalism, and warm demeanor. Following her career, she devoted herself fully to her family as a homemaker and stay at home mother, a role she cherished deeply.
Wanda was the beloved mother of two sons, Brian Adelgren and his wife Desirea, and Daron Adelgren and his wife Tara.
She took great pride in her role as “Grandmama” and great “Grandmama”,finding her greatest joy in time spent with her family. She is survived by five grandchildren. Jaxon Adelgren age 29 and his wife Kaitlyn, parents to Maisy Dawn and Bowen Michael. Briara Barrett, age 28, and her husband Liam, parents to Archie Wyatt and Ezra James. Brooklyn McGuire, age 27, and her husband William, parents to Leonidas Taylor, Atlas Robert, and Roman Matthew. Brett Adelgren, age 26, and his fiancée Gabby Ridpath. Faith Homes, age 15, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
A true fighter, Wanda battled cancer three times and won each time, facing every challenge with grit, faith, and her signature determination. Those who knew her were never surprised, because quitting was simply not part of her nature.
Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Adelgren, and her five brothers, Walter Watts, Cecil Watts and his wife Helen, Burley Watts and his wife Melba, JB Watts, whose wife Estella survives, and Gene Watts and his wife Francis.
Wanda will be remembered for her quiet strength, gracious spirit, unwavering devotion to her family, and the care she extended to all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strong family bonds, and treasured memories that will be held close by those whose lives she touched.
A visitation will be held at Resthaven Mortuary, located at 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209, on February 4, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place on February 5, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Goddard Pathway, 18800 W Kellogg Dr, Goddard, KS 67052.
The committal service will immediately follow the funeral service in procession to Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209, on February 5, 2026.
