

Wanda was a gentle, soft, and nurturing soul whose warmth could be felt by everyone around her. She expressed herself through color and creativity -- whether through her handmade cards or the vibrant clothing she wore so effortlessly. She had a fun, expressive spirit and a natural eye for beauty in the everyday.
She was also known for her incredibly thoughtful and practical gifts, always finding just the right thing to make someone feel seen, cared for, and loved. It was one of the many quiet ways she showed up for people in her life.
Wanda was deeply involved in her community, contributing her time and energy to the Wichita museum board. She was also active in a local women's business group, where she bult meaningful connections and supported others.
Professionally, Waned dedicated her career to healthcare as a medical laboratory technologist specializing in blood banking. She worked at Via Christi - St. Francis, where she not only took great pride in her work, but also taught and mentored others in the field. Her steady, caring presence made a meaningful impact on both colleagues and the many lives touch through her work.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Walter Raymond Singleton and Genevieve Pearl Kepner; and her sisters, Alda Hodgkinson and Linda Roberts.
She is survived by: her husband, Bob Gordy; her son, Legion Gordy and daughter-in-law, Lottie Gordy; her granddaughters, Whitney Lee, Misty Xicum Ku, and Jessica Vaile; her great-grandchildren, Kai, Hazel, Koa Xicum, Chris and Conner Vaile. Her family was the center of her world, and her love will continue to live on through each of them.
Pallbearers will be: Tony Roberts, Darren Hodgkinson, Christian Vaile, Connor Vaile, David Blake, and Brett Sollenberger.
Wanda will be remembered for her gentle heart, her creative spirit, and the thoughtful, nurturing way she cared for others. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Public Visitation will be 9:30 AM ~ 10:30 AM on Friday, April 24, 2026; Funeral Service will follow at 10:30 AM, both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Garden of Freedom, Wichita.
