Warren Milton Hatfield, age 74, passed away peacefully at his home in Wichita, Kansas on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Warren is survived by Christie, his wife of almost 44 years.
Warren was born on March 11, 1951 in Wichita to Les and Kathryn Brown Hatfield. He had one brother and one sister. Warren graduated from Wichita East High School in 1969 and he attended Wichita State University, majoring in chemistry.
Warren was very proud of his long and successful career of over 35 years at Hawker Beechcraft in Wichita. He retired in 2013. Most of his career was spent in materials and process engineering, specializing in composite materials and fabrication processes for the aircraft industry. He was manager of the composites test lab.
His many interests included traveling to Las Vegas, Hawaii, and Mexico, and the vacation trips became more frequent after both he and his wife Christie retired. Christie was a very devoted elementary school teacher for over 35 years. Warren also enjoyed grilling at home, reading, fishing, working in the yard, and spending time with close friends and family. And he and Christie particularly enjoyed filling their home with friends and family and hosting birthday celebrations, barbecues and holiday dinners where Warren helped prepare delicious food, and where many games were played. Those gatherings are memorable and always had great camaraderie and much laughter.
Warren will be greatly missed by many, and most particularly by those who enjoyed Warren and Christie’s warm hospitality.
In addition to his wife Christie, Warren is survived by his brother Bruce Hatfield, his brother-in-law Jim Legg, and his nephew Ryan Kaser. Warren was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Leslie Kaser.
Pursuant to his request, Warren will be cremated. A celebration of life memorial will be held at a later time.
