

Henry William F. “Bill”, 93, former president of Associated Industries in Wichita passed away Monday, July 21 at his home. He is preceded in death by his wife Gaila (Selvy) Henry, his parents, Virgil and Nanny Henry, two brothers, James and Vernon, and a sister, Medora (Henry) Stinson. He is survived by his brother Jack Henry, sister Helena (Henry) Robertson, and step-sister Wanita (Moreman) Gruber, four children; sons David and Mark Henry, and daughters Gaila Lynn (Henry) Braun and Marlys A. (Henry) Morrison, seven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Bill lived a long and full life. During WW II he piloted B-17 bombers, was shot down and spent a year in German prisoner of war camps. He and Gaila raised four children with love, and understanding and he was a successful businessman who for over forty years was known as a quiet gentleman with a respect and concern for others. He loved working in the garage and could fix almost anything. A gifted craftsman, he built ¼ midget racers for his sons, helped many other young men weld the frames for their go carts, and was always helping one of his children, a friend or neighbor or grandchild with a project. His family will miss Grandpa Bill immensely. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26 at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. Memorials have been established with the Wichita Alzheimer’s Association, and Wounded Warriors.
