William Emmett McGreevy, Jr., passed away with family at his side on November 25, 2021. Emmett was born in Wichita, Kansas on September 15, 1931 to William Emmett McGreevy, Sr., and Helen (Fallis) McGreevy. He was the oldest of ten siblings.
On August 20, 1976, Emmett took Gerry to be his wife, and Lee, Julie, and Marla to be his children. He had a 50 year career as an owner of Midwest Meat Company, Inc. and retired in 2001. Emmett and Gerry loved to go to church, dancing, and the movies.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Lee; brothers, Kenny and Pat; and sister, Rose.
He is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine "Gerry" (Rodal) McGreevy; daughters, Julie (Steve), and Marla; brothers, Herb (JoAnn), Joe (Patsy), Tim (Anne), and Mike (Denise); sisters, Mary McGreevy, and Karen Gregory; sisters in-law, Alberta, and Pauly; and his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Nick (Maria), Eric (Christina), Shelby, Taylor (Devin), Ryan, Skyy, Mason, Chase, Nicole, Landon, and Dawna.
A Recitation of the Rosary will begin at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 430 N Broadway, Wichita, KS 67202, at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2021, immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the same location. Committal will be private, for family only.
