Ottman, William F. “Bill”, 85, died July 7, 2012 at Wichita, Kansas. Memorial service is 1:00 pm Friday, July 13 at Presbyterian Manor Chapel. He was born June 28, 1927, the son of Nolan and Eleanor Ottman. We was raised and educated in Independence. During WWII he served with the 61st Naval Seabee Battalion in the Philippines. He was recalled to active duty during the Korean War and served in that area. He was employed by SW Bell Telephone Co. in 1949 and held various business office positions in Pittsburg, Colby, Topeka and Wichita. He retired in 1985 as a Public Relations Manager in Wichita. He is survived by his wife, Betty Simmons Ottman, a son, Bill (Margo), a daughter Diane (Rod) Taylor, 5 grandchildren, Tiffany, Travis, Aidan, Drew, Dane, Danny, Matt, 2 great grandchildren Ava and Truman. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Presbyterian Manor.
