Bill, a proud veteran of The United States Navy, retired from the IRS after 32 years of service. He married Rosalie Ann Dorzweiler on December 30, 1953. They were married for 69 happy years and raised 5 children. Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing, golfing, and gardening. He also enjoyed square dancing and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Fidelis and Theckla Wasinger and sister Leona Pfeifer.
Survived by: his wife, Rosalie Ann Wasinger; daughter, Linda (John) Vestring of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son, Robert (Brenda) Wasinger; son, James Wasinger; son, Francis Wasinger; and daughter, Brenda Hardy, all of Wichita, Kansas; grandsons: Ryan (Lindsey) Wasinger, Brett (Kristen) Wasinger, Colin Wasinger, Jeffrey (Erin) Vestring; granddaughters: Courtney (Joseph) Burdick, Ashley Hardy, Jessica Hardy; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are: Ryan Wasinger, Brett Wasinger, Colin Wasinger, Jeffrey Vestring, Joseph Burdick and Tom Brennaman.
Visitation with family present will be held Friday, September 1, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Hwy 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 2, 2023, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M., both at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 645 N. 119th St. W., Wichita, Kansas, 67235. Interment will follow the Mass at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, in the Garden of Freedom, 11800 US-54 Highway, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
