Dear MaryJane,  Mauri, LaRue, and Candy:  We were very saddened to learn of Blackie's death.  May he rest in peace.  We will keep all of you in our prayers at this sad time of your life.
We enjoyed meeting him on our first trip to Wichita many years ago.  If you recall, both he and Nunci kept trying to see who could play the best prank on each other; we all had a fun time.  Thank you, Blackie for the memory!  Sincerely, Nunci and Violet Cali

I worked with Blackie 21 years. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. He gave me a painting with is painted by his wife.  I have in my family room. I always remember him. He was good enginner and good friend.i will miss him. May god bless him.

Blackie took me under his wing when I started at Boeing and loved to hear his stories of flying during WWII. I thought of him often, wishing I could see him again.  A good Friend,

Blackie was not only a great engineer, but a good friend as well.  I worked  with him for many years and always appreciated his "take on life" and sense of humor.  He was quite a guy, with years of experience that he freely shared with us. To have known him was a pleasure and blessing. My thoughts and prayers are with the Rains family. May God continue to provide comfort during this time of loss.

Blackie was a great person to know.  My mom-in-law Betty worked with him at Boeing and mentioned how great it was to work with him.  He was so knowledgeable about the B17 and B29.  It was an honor to meet him and work with him at Boeing and Spirit as a volunteer.  He did great things for the aviation museum and sharing his knowledge of flying with all who would take the time to listen and learn.  Blessings to his family, our prayers are with you.  The Stroots

I had the honor and pleasure of working with Blackie for many years at Boeing. My work cubicle was directly across from his in the Facilities Office Building, so Blackie was usually the first co-worker I saw in the morning at work. My wife and I extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Rains family.

I workked with and around Blackie at Boeing as well as at the Aviation museum. He was a good friend and will be missed and remembered. I'm very sorry to learn of his death.

My sincere condolences to the Rains family and close family friends.  I worked with Blackie at Boeing and it's a source of many fond memories.  When describing Blackie, the word "personality" comes to mind.  He was definitely a character and I truly enjoyed his company.  I feel for you during this sad time.
