Zella Mae Gibson

Gibson, Zella Mae passed from her vibrant life early Saturday, January 17, 2015. Born August 16, 1928, Zella was the 2nd oldest of eight girls. It was her experience growing up on the family farm outside of Rose Hill, surrounded by her sisters, that she developed her independence, zest for life, and a love for people. Nowhere was this more evident than Zella’s commitment to working full time until the age of 86. She was a sales manager at Wichita Pump and Supply for 33 years, until October of 2014, when her health began to prevent her from doing the things she loved. These qualities however, paled in comparison to the love of her family. Preceding Zella in death are her parents John and Marcella Landon, husbands; Warren Cornell and Quincy Gibson, sisters; Joyce, Martha, and Melba, and her son David. Survivors are daughters; Karen Niedens (Verl), Kathleen Ingram, Becky Urhlaub (Richard), Carol Romig, sisters; Norma, Vera, Loretta and Alma, ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial at Resthaven will be held Friday, January 30 at 11:00. For those acquaintances that will not be able to attend, take a moment that morning and smile for Zella. She will be missed.
