Our Mother, Zelma M. Bahm, was born September 26,1928 at Helena, Oklahoma. Her parents Clyde E. and Francis M. Brown provided a simple country life with strong moral values. Being the youngest of 5 kids she was expected to help on the farm and look after her parents.
Mom attended and graduated from Northwestern College at Alva, Oklahoma where she met Herbert P. Bahm. They were married in July 1950, In April 1951 Michael was born followed by Steven in May 1953. Mom taught part-time in USD-259 Wichita Public Schools. When she went fulltime she was one of the teachers that opened Rea Woodman Elementary School. She taught there until her retirement.
Dad preceded Mom in death in April 2013. Her life is celebrated by her sons Mike (Sherrie) and Steve, six grandkids, three great grandkids and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held 10:30am Thursday, September 24th at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 W Hwy 54, Wichita KS, 67209.
