Passed way October 24, 2017 in Spokane, WA formerly of Lincoln, WA. Norman was born on January 4, 1936 in Wilbur, WA to Noah and Mabel Thomas, grew up in Hartline and attended school graduating in 1954 he then went on to attend Eastern WA College (now EWU) where he was involved in the ROTC program. Norman married Claudia Tilson on September 29, 1956 in Hartline, WA and they made their home there and raised their family. Norman worked for the Grant County Rd Dept. and then for McCall Fertilizer before farming with his brother William and Uncle Irvin on the family farm. He farmed for 70 years. He and Claudia moved to Lincoln WA in 1990 where they made their retirement home. Norman was a member of the Hartline Methodist Church, CWGG, Lincoln Mutual Service #1 board member, former Hartline School Board and the Hartline volunteer Fire Dept. Norman enjoyed fishing, woodworking in his shop, boating and being on the river, traveling and was a snowbird for 14 years in Yuma, AZ. He is survived by his wife Claudia at the home, three children Monty (Tina) Thomas, Mark Thomas and Pam (Larry) Evans along with six grandchildren and two great grandchildren and his sister Eileen Cox and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother William Thomas and one sister Belva Trexler and daughter in law Kim Thomas. Funeral services for Norman will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Hartline High School Gym with Pastor David Oliver, Officiating. Interment will follow at the Hartline Cemetery, Hartline, WA. Memorials maybe made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Hartline Fire and EMT’s..
