New Birthday in Heaven .. and so many memories for us here downstairs … celebrating with family reminded me so much of how you entertained everyone with such grace and warmth! Love you lots ..

Andrea - you are with us every day; especially over the Holiday season for obvious reasons.  You brightened the day for so many people (family and friends included).  That was a true gift.  You and Todd were able to squeeze so much travel and “seeing the world” in the last 10+ years of your life - I am so happy you pushed through that, even though I’m sure your health dictated you should slow the pace.  

We are lucky enough to now have our first grandchild (Callan Matthew - Scott’s son) - and I will certainly tell him all about his great aunt Andrea as he begins his life’s journey.  

We love you and we will never forget you.  Rest in peace and hug Mom for us too.

Happy Anniversary in Heaven Andrea! I think of you so often ! Happy you are in peace and reunited with your Mom!  Lots of love to your family and thank you again for having made my world a much better one through your friendship! Say Hi to Henk as well:-)

Andy - thinking of you and Mom today (as I do most days) wishing you were physically here, as it should be.  All of us think and talk of you often, but we know you are not alone; you are sitting by Mom’s side and both of you are watching over us.  We love you always.

A year has gone by but you are always present in my thoughts and going through old pictures and cards you sent the other day reminded me again of the beautiful friendship we shared through time and space .. God speed Andrea and I am so happy you are reunited with your Mom! A big hug to Todd and Chris as well !

This past year has seemed to pass so quickly to me and Cathy, but I can honestly say that I have thought about Andy every single day.  You left us way too early, but my comfort comes from two things: (1) you are no longer in pain, and (2) you are at Mom’s side.  You will always be in our hearts and be a major part of our lives for the rest of our days.  We miss you and look forward to meeting up with you and Mom someday in the future.

Part 2. 
 Remembering Andy McKenney
.... Then she moved to Colorado with her job and met the love of her life, Todd. We all embraced Todd and were very happy for her. Then the evilness started. The big 'C' - but were not talking about that here. We are talking about the good times.

We started doing vacations together with her, Todd, Mick, and Jeff. Sedona Arizona, Tombstone, AZ. We saw Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood, S.D, met Todd's parents in Wyoming, saw George Strait together. We have done 'The Outer Banks' .... and were supposed to do many more....

We got to see her and your beautiful new home in Florida last November.

I will miss the nickname she and only she called me. Sandbone :)

We will miss the best hugs in the world, but I am happy that she is no longer in pain or suffering.

To the rest of my family (and in particular Todd and Christopher) - we were all so lucky to have Andy be a part of our lives.  One of my boys recently commented to me that Aunt Andy "had the juice......" - meaning that she was full of life and outward, engaging and always interested in the lives of others.  She had this "gift", and we are lucky to have been touched by this.  Christopher, the pain of the grief will not pass soon, as I can attest to still mourning the loss of my Mom 31 years ago.  But as the years go by, along with the tears the mourning will also bring smiles of all of the good times shared with her.  Todd - you have been a godsend to my sister when she truly needed it.  You are a rock and you have taken care of our little sister with tremendous grace and love.  My brother, sister and I will never forget all you have brought to Andy's (our our) lives.  I know Mom was at Heaven's Gate greeting Andy as she arrived - this gives me the greatest comfort.  Andy, we all will miss you dearly and keep all of our memories close to our hearts.  I will love you forever Andy.

 Remembering Andy McKenney - Part 1

I have known Andy since I was about 9 years old. I was really friends with Micky, and she was the tag along. But as we grew up, we all became friends (Micky, Andy, and I).

Our naughty didn't get too bad as teenagers, but I clearly recall us piercing each others' ears (second holes in each) in my basement with an ice cube and a needle - we actually did a good job :). We also did some skinny dipping in my parent's pool. When she graduated from Broome Community College, she got a job at IBM Poughkeepsie and became my housemate at Imperial Gardens in Fishkill, NY. We had a lot of fun together and I never recall any issues living together. We only lived together about a year and then I got engaged to Jeff and transferred back to IBM Owego area.

Life happened - she got married to Ross and had Chris.. and moved A LOT! I think I made it to all her houses. Boston/Arizona/Colorado - Arizona again (the vacation home) and The Villages Florida.

Randomly or sometimes for birthdays we would get a package of THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES ON EARTH. O. M. G.

She and I shared a love of crafting and over the years she gifted me many things that are still displayed in my home. I have a pearly white ceramic Madonna, little valentine heart ladies, a counted cross stitch that says 'Friends are Forever' - which I treasure, a wooden red and white XO(Todd.

Life wasn't always easy for her, but she always had a smile on her face and made the best of it.

Mick and I celebrated her 40th birthday with her in Arizona and then her 50th too. Then she moved to Colorado with her iob and met the love of her life, Todd. We all embraced Todd and were very happy for her. Then the evilness started. The big 'C' - but were not talking about that here. We are talking about the good times.



Nov 2008 with Adway, Arin and my parents, she made us a Thanksgiving dinner, before I headed into surgery. Forever grateful for the friendship💔

Todd, Chris and family, Its difficult to come to terms that she is no longer with us. I feel so grateful, that we were able to have Thanksgiving dinner with her, you and Chris this year. 
I met Andrea at work in 1999, when I use to work for her (we even traveled to India together and had so much fun), and fortunate to have stayed connected since. She has been a pillar of strength as I went through my cancer journey - but never expected it to end this way. She was an amazing friend, and a mentor to me, Gopa, Adway and Arin - kind, honest and she had unique a way to connect with each of us differently. All of us are heartbroken at her untimely passing. Adway remembers the cookies she had mailed him during his freshman year -  they were really special. She was loved more than she knew. May we all live in her beautiful memories.

I worked with Andrea from 1999-2000 at American Express. I remember her positive „everything is possible“ attitude, her patience in explaining technical things to me, and her love for her kids.

We have lost a Beautiful Soul 💝 Andrea was an Amazing Role Model, and as reflected here, an all around Amazing Lady in her many roles as Wife, Mother, Sister, Daughter, Friend, Friend, Friend. My cherished memories of Andrea come from our neighborhood, where Andrea, in typical Andrea fashion, formed a dear friendship from four houses away. 

Andrea quickly exemplified the neighbor you always wanted … ALWAYS thinking of and nurturing others despite her full time career.
