It is with deep sorrow we share the unexpected passing of our son Andrew Richard Girroir, on June 14, 2025 at the age of 37. Andy was from St Albans VT, graduated from Bellows Free Academy & attended VT Technical College in Randolph, VT. He worked as a Night Audit Supervisor at The Essex Resort and Spa until his recent move to Leesburg, FL where he continued his same career at the Brownwood Hotel & Spa. In his earlier career he worked with children as a substitute teacher at St Albans Town Educational Ctr which he enjoyed teaching & interacting with the children immensely. He was a kid magnet and enjoyed their banter and mentoring the youth.
He was a vibrant soul who loved collecting and selling Poke’mon cards and attending Poke’mon GO Events. He treasured spending time with his family, enjoying barbeques, playing with his cousins, nieces & nephews. Andy thrived creating the 2015 Legend of the Nerds VT Comic Con series on the local channel in St Albans VT with his dear friend James Cross. They received a BEST TALK SHOW award in 2016. James was his treasured best friend, the show brought out Andy’s creative side. Andy also enjoyed going to movies frequently with his friends from the Essex Resort, Brook & Jeremy.

During his HS years, Andy participated in sports such as track - field & football. He took Building Trades which he loved with mentors, Cappey & Waunch.
Andy also cherished his family so much as well as his grandparents, Robert & Marcia Brown. Andy used to say “I don’t care about gifts, just spending time with family is what’s most important to me”. One of Andy’s most cherished memories was going to the VT Lake Monster games (almost catching a foul ball by the tip of his fingers) & to Boston watching the Red Sox game with his Step-Dad, Tim (he talked of that for many years & wanted to go back as it was the trip of a lifetime for him)!

A Thank You from the family:
I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to my two sisters (Lisa Arnold and Julianne Gray) for flying back here supporting both Tim and I through this extremely difficult time, but also spending time with Andy in the hospital as well as helping out bringing him to appointments and food when I wasn't able to. I don't know what I would have done without them, and I know how much Andy appreciated it as well.
