November 13, 1948 - August 30, 2026
Dale B. LaBumbard, age 77, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026, at his home in The Villages, Florida, surrounded by the people he loved.
Born on November 13, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, Dale grew up in Redford Township, Michigan, the son of Keith and Patricia LaBumbard. From the very beginning, Dale was never far from his twin brother, Daryl. Together, they were affectionately known as "Moe" & "Butch", names that followed them throughout their lives-and fittingly, his twin brother was by his side as Dale took his final journey.
Dale was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran and built a successful career as a Logistics Director at Williams International.
His life took him from Michigan to Texas and ultimately to Florida.
Dale found a wonderful community in Texas and Florida, supporting, educating, and participating in The Parkinson's Foundation. Dale became an active and valued member of the Parkinson's Foundation of Central Florida, including fundraising events and living by their motto "Together We Move."
Those who knew Dale will remember his incredible sense of humor, his kind and generous soul, and his complete lack of a filter. He had a way of making people laugh, often with a ridiculous joke or an unexpected comment, and he loved singing along loudly to just about anything.
If something was "outstanding," you knew it-and that word became one of his trademarks.
Dale loved deeply, and he showed that love through his actions. He was the kind of dad and grandpa who was simply there—present, involved, and ready to help his family whenever they needed him. He treasured his family, his pets, his travels, fishing, motorcycling, and especially his Harley. He was affectionately known as "BaBa" by his grandchildren and took great pride in the family he helped build.
Dale leaves behind his beloved wife, Diana LaBumbard; his children, Keith LaBumbard, Stephanie LaBumbard, and Jessica Palmer (Tim Palmer); six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his twin brother, Daryl LaBumbard (Colleen LaBumbard); his sister, Kandy Conger (Steve Conger); and his faithful companion and loving dog, Hooda.
Dale lived his life on his own terms. He was a proud Marine, a devoted father and grandfather, a loyal friend, a Harley rider, a storyteller, a singer, a jokester, and, above all, a man who loved his family fiercely and showed it in everything he did.
His memory will live on in every ridiculous joke, every song sung a little too loudly, and in the many lives he touched along the way.
Dale did this journey his own way. And that was, indeed, "Outstanding!"
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Eisenhower Recreation Center in The Villages, Florida.
Dale will later be laid to rest with military honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. The date will be announced at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation of Central Florida in honor of Dale and the community that meant so much to him.
