Henry "Bill" William Glass Jr., 83, of The Villages, FL, passed away on July 29, 2026. Bill was born on June 20, 1943 in Beverly, Massachusetts to his late parents Henry and Katherine Glass. Bill was a 1961 graduate of Beverly High School. He later received his Bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1967. He then served in the US Army in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969. Bill retired as treasurer of the Berkshire Life Insurance Company in Pittsfield, MA in 1999 after 30 years with the company.
Bill was an avid golfer all his life, and was able to continue his love for golf and life with his family and friends in The Villages after retirement. He also enjoyed going out to eat with his family.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy; brothers in law, Jim "miJ" Kirwin, Allan Nyman, and Ted Gaudette.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Gail after 42 years of marriage; daughter, Becky Mitchell, 4 sisters, Sandy Kirwin, Jackie Nyman, Cathy Brickelmaier, and Terry Gaudette; 2 grandchildren, Sam and Emma Mitchell.
A Celebration of Life for Bill will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Dignity Memorial Life Celebration Center, 7134 Powell Road Wildwood, FL. A prayer service will begin at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
