Jane Marie (Weber) Peterson, aged 61, of Lady Lake, Florida, passed away on October 18th, 2024. Born on August 17th, 1963, in Cleveland, Ohio, Jane was the cherished daughter of the late Frederick P. Weber and Anna Lois (Bale) Weber. She was lovingly preceded in death by her husband, Mick Peterson.
Jane spent her youth heavily involved in her church and 4H programs, earning many awards through her gardening, sewing, and arts. She was a majorette and the first Field Commander in the band at Pickerington High School. She graduated Class of 1981 and went on to further her education at Columbus Technical Institute for Laboratory Technology. She also took graphics design/art courses from Ohio State. She worked at Franklin International in Sales & Marketing from 1984-1999 and then Mills James as a Presentation Designer from 1999-2006. Jane then decided to branch out into free lance projects and started a successful graphic design business, Creative Harmony, LLC where she worked up until the present day.
Known for her fun-loving and optimistic personality, Jane brought light and joy to those around her. When she wasn’t traveling for her graphics design career, she spent time active in golf leagues and was a member of the worship team at St John’s Lutheran Church. After she survived a debilitating stroke in 2015 she persevered in her fierce independence. Losing her ability to golf, swim, and do other activities she once loved - she became an avid trike rider and met many fellow trike riders through Spokes for Strokes. In 2018 she sold everything she owned and bought an RV to pursue her dream of full-time RV life as a work camper. She would spend her Summers split between Ohio and Illinois and in the winter months, she spent time in different areas around Florida. From all of these travels she met life long friends and made memories of a life time. She decided to plant some roots in 2022 and bought a house in Recreation Plantation near The Villages in Florida. She loved sitting on her porch observing her butterfly plants, sun bathing by the pool, and participating in all of the activities community had to offer - like Bingo and Taco Tuesday. Although she couldn’t join in the dancing, she spent many evenings in the front row of the crowd enjoying the live music performances by Ricky Zen, her life partner over the last months of her life. Despite the distance between Florida and Ohio, Jane’s most cherished role in life was Nana to her granddaughter, Addison.
Jane’s legacy continues through her daughter Rachel Marie (Lewis) Dye; son, Tyler Jeffrey Lewis; granddaughter, Addison Grace Dye; brother, Karl Dean Weber and his wife, Kim Weber; and sister, Lisa Ann (Weber) McCarthy and her husband, Eugene F. (Mickey) McCarthy.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Jane’s life will be held February 2nd from 2-4pm at Covenant Church in Grove City, OH.
