Leo William Fitzgerald

Leo William Fitzgerald, longtime resident of The Villages, FL, formerly of Charlestown, MA has entered into eternal life on Saturday, June 7, 2025. He was 75 years of age. Born in Everett, MA on June 10, 1949, son of Joseph and Margaret (Leahy) Fitzgerald. He grew up in Charlestown, MA, where he attended Boston Public Schools. He entered into the marines at the age of 18 and did a tour of duty in Vietnam. Leo later became a Boston Firefighter for 32 years retiring in 2003. He later moved himself and his wife Debie to The Villages, FL where he was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed watching hockey and traveling by RV. Leo was the heart and soul of every place he entered. Leo is the beloved husband for over 44 years to his wife Debie (Mahoney) Fitzgerald. He is the loving father of Joseph Fitzgerald and his wife Stefanie of Tewskbury, MA, Michele MacKenzie and her husband Jason of Waldoboro Maine, Debra LaRaia and her husband Joseph of Plymouth, MA, Terianne Carroll and her husband Jack of Wildwood, FL, and Colleen Fitzgerald of Boston, MA. Leo is the dear brother of Peggy O’Leary of The Villages, FL, and the late Joseph Fitzgerald and Sheila Fitzgerald. He doted on his grandchildren, Chance, Cadence, Michele, Angela, Joseph, Brian, Aiden, Jack, Savannah, Kayla and Jayden and great grandchildren Christopher and Giana. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
