

Mark Stephen Strickler, 78, of The Villages, Florida passed on March 28, 2026. Mark was born on December 9, 1947, in Cheverly, Maryland to his late parents Paul and Corinne (Davis) Strickler. A graduate of Wheaton High School, Mark went on to study at the University of Maryland. After several years in private industry, he retired from a stellar 33 year career at SSA dotted with commissioner and associate commissioner citations. Mark was a competitive athlete who never met a ball he didn't like.... football, baseball, softball, pickleball, racquetball... finishing out his athletic career with golf six days a week including a hole- in-one. One of his greatest achievements was serving as Soccer Commissioner for the Freedom Optimist Youth Soccer program in Sykesville, Maryland working tirelessly to acquire sponsors for uniforms and trophies. He grew the program nearly doubling the size to 1500 children. Mark’s greatest joy was his family. He was deeply involved in their lives and his office was wallpapered with their photos.
Predeceased by his parents and first wife Kathleen (Laddbush) Strickler.
He is survived by wife Marjorie (Eberlein) Strickler, and children; Christina (Will) Oliphant of Kingston, PA, Brian (Alissa) Strickler of Mountaintop, PA, Stephen Strickler of Porter Indiana, Kaitlyn (Tony) Falcone of Laflin, PA; 6 grandchildren, Will, Haylie, Charlotte, Anthony, Ava, and Lainey; siblings, Scott (Ellen) Strickler and Dawn (Steve) Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at Dignity Memorial Life Celebration Center, 7134 Powell Road in Wildwood, FL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, 10:00 AM, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 420 S Mountain Blvd Mountain Top, PA.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mark’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the ASPCA.
