Bill was born August 21, 1926, in Surry County, NC, to Joel and Sarah East. He is survived by his wife, Bert, of 78 years; daughter, Linda Cagle (Dan); granddaughter, Cathy Harris (Rick); grandson, Chris Cagle (Maria); and great-grandson, Drew Cagle. He is also survived by sister, Edna Martin; God children, Tommy Martin and Tammy Dorsett of Madison, NC.
Mr. East founded Bill East Bookkeeping and Tax Service in Jamestown, NC. He was a proud WWII Navy veteran. He was a member of Guilford Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC, and the Jamestown Rotary Club.
Arrangements were made by Dignity Memorial in Wildwood, FL. A military funeral will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell on July 6th. Memorials may be made to Guilford Baptist Church, 5904 W. Market St., Greensboro, NC 27409.
