Dear Family, I grew up hearing of Ivan and Margaret Ann but never spent much time with them even though family.  We left Ohio when I was 10 and moved to California.  What a precious treasure to know that Ivan gave back to the Lord through his gift of carpentry.  Praise God that he is with the Lord and celebrating a NEW life!    Dear Margret and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. The world has lost a great man and Heaven has gained a great soul. I know I had not spoke with you or Ivan in a long time but I have a lot of memories of Ivan. He was a genuine and fine man. He will be sorely missed.
   I just want to take a moment and thank you both for being so kind and good to a young man who knew very little about construction and very little about life in general when I met you both. I think back to when I first met Ivan and he nailed my nail belt to the floor of a construction job for a doctor in a rush to get to lunch. I think about that smile on his face when I went to pick it up and couldn't. I also remember when we were all at put in bay doing the deli job and how you and he looked after a bunch of dumb kids (me, Ben, Rick and Chris) and how I learned a lot about the love he had for his family. Just to think back at those times makes me smile! Thank you both so much for all you did for me and how in the short time we spent together I came to love you both.
     My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time.

To Mrs. Rogers and family

I have wonderful memories of Ivan. My sisters and I used to love it when you would visit us in Michigan and when we came to see you at your farm in Ohio.  Ivan was always hysterical. My best memory is when he ripped the crust off of my toast at a restaurant.  I think I was being a picky eater and he thought that might help.  My Dad ( Stan Barker) has always been very proud to count Ivan as his friend and I can see why.  I will keep you all in my prayers.  Marchelle Barker  ( Stan and Jane Barker's middle daughter)

How do we adequately express our sense of loss and honor Ivan's memory?  Montana seems so painfully far from Ohio right now.  Mark and I often talk about the wonderful times we've spent visiting Margaret Ann and Ivan at their home - farm fresh produce or corn on the cob usually starts the conversation.  We shared home cooked meals, shucked corn, and played with the pets but most importantly we visited with Ivan and Margaret Ann -- getting caught up on  family and friends and what was new in their lives.  For us, that's really what a visit back home is all about.  Mark has shared many of the fond memories he has of growing up with the Rogers family and helping on the farm.  His last name might be Ketcham, but I'm pretty sure one of his middle names is Rogers.  He always felt like one of the Rogers clan - I know that has meant the world to him.  I remember the first time I met Ivan - he was an imposing character - tall, huge, rough hands but with a twinkle in his eye.  He tugged at my heart strings immediately -- I could see he was very genuine. Over the years I saw just how much he loved his family....NO obstacle could not or would not be overcome to help them.......what a testament to love that is and what a blessing.  And although I joined the family pretty late I always felt included and loved -- there were plenty of kind words and hugs to go around.  We are comforted knowing he had a very full life - he worked hard, played hard, loved his family and friends with all his heart, and was a devout Christian who lead an honorable life.  But we dearly miss him -- especially the bear hugs and the good-natured ribbing we could always expect.  The time we had to spend with him went by much too fast.  I hope Ivan knew how much we thought of him, loved him and looked up to him.  If you're listening, Ivan, we miss you and love you......more than you could know.  Love, Mark and Shea Ketcham
