
Lloyd Eldon “Skip” Shellhammer (83) of Willard, died at 6:34 AM Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center, Akron. He was born December 21, 1928 in Tiffin to the late Lloyd B. Shellhammer and Dollie Mae (Pontius) Shellhammer Reamer. Skip was married November 19, 1949 to Joyce E. (Archer) in the Grace United Methodist Church where he still attended. Joyce preceded him in death in 2010.
Skip was a graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School, class of 1946 and was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Marines. He spent most of his life as the advertiser manager of the Willard Times Junction. Skip was a member of the Willard Elks, American Legion and Moose. He enjoyed golfing, traveling and cared dearly for his family enjoying spending time with them and attending their sporting events.
Skip is survived by his 4 sons: Ric (Kathy) of Oceanside, CA, Scott (Kathy) of Findlay, Douglas of Bellevue, and Robin (Barb) of Oregon, OH. 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Sister: Beulah M. Taylor of Tiffin and sister in laws: Dorothy Shellhammer of Whitehouse and Phyllis Reamer of Tiffin. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings: Richard Shellhammer, Eulah Mae Bridinger, and Herman Reamer.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Grace United Methodist Church, Willard with the Rev. Doug Winner officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Willard. Military rites will be provided by the local American Legion and VFW.
