Opal Jean Chaffins

Opal J. Chaffins (87) of Willard, died April 19, 2012 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Howell, MI. She was born October 17, 1924 in Garrett, KY to the late Oliver and Roxie (Bolen) Chaffins. During her life she worked at Kraft Foods, Pepperidge Farms, and Hillside Acres Nursing Home. Opal enjoyed going to the Willard Moose, quilting, canning, dancing and loved the beach and watching WWE wrestling. She is survived by her daughter: Vanessa Bayes of Willard, sons: Ronnie (Suzie) Bayes of Brighton, MI and Don (Cilla) Bolen of Crestview, FL. 6 grandchildren. Shawn, Stacie, Corey, Kevin, Alicia and Jason. Brother: Dempsey Chaffins of Garrett, Ky and sister: Beatrice Moore of Taylor, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter: Helen, brothers: Arnold, Frank and Ralph and sisters: Glenna and Hazel. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday April 23, 2012 at the Lindsey-Kocher Funeral Service, 323 Myrtle Ave., Willard, OH. Friends may call Sunday 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Willard. Our sincere condolences and yes, Opal will be missed by all. She made many of her quilting blankets for us and we still have some of them that we use quite often. She crossed that ‘rainbow bridge' and is waiting for us on the other side. We we all have a party when we get there. Bill and Ad Baylor
