IN THE CARE OF
Nelsen Williamsburg
On Friday April 19th 2019, Anne Marie (Ressetar) Evanyke passed peacefully at her home in Williamsburg at the age of 87.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband, John Evanyke, of 61 years. She is survived by her three children, Gregory, Lynne Taylor (Barry), and Nicholas (Virginia). She is also survived by three grandchildren, Michael and David Taylor, and Nicholas Evanyke.
She was born on March 7th 1932, in Radburn NY. As a child, she moved numerous times because her father designed interiors of ships for the United States government. Like her father, Anne was a gifted artist and went on to study art at Marywood University and Grove City College. After college, she went to work for her father’s furniture design company, W&J Sloan Furniture. She was also very active with St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, where she met her husband John.
After marrying John, her focused shifted to her greatest accomplishment, raising her three children. Following many years of supporting John and her family, they retired in Williamsburg, VA, their favorite vacation destination. Anne Marie always loved the beauty of Williamsburg and they moved into a house of Anne’s design. Furthermore, Anne always had an interest in pottery, resulting in a studio in her house. Many of her beautiful creations adorn her house.
Anne touched and inspired us all with her incredible spirit. She was a perfect wife, mother, and grandmother. We will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be held privately by the family. Interment will be held at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA, along side her husband John, a WWII Veteran.
