Antonia Franziska Zimmerman (Grandma), 79, died Friday, August 18, 2017 in Williamsburg. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernst and Anna Schwing; her husband, Edward L. Zimmerman; and grandson, Michael Strickland.
Antonia was a beautiful singer, a seamstress and a crafter. She enjoyed football and politics and was beloved by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her son Jimmie House (Melissa); daughters Mary Strickland, Jean Morris (Joe) and Beth Johnson (Tod); 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
A visitation will be held Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 5-7pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will be held at a later date. Online condolences for the family may be expressed at www.nelsencares.com.
