Aquilla Louise Jones

Aquilla Louise Jones, "Ninny", age 79, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Aquilla was born May 7, 1942. A lifelong resident of Williamsburg, "Ninny" was preceded in death by her husband James Jones Sr., her son, James Jones Jr., and her parents Mary Jones and Levi Jones.

"Ninny" enjoyed cooking in her spare time, but out of all of her life's work, she was first and foremost an amazing mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children Shawn (Keesya) Jones; daughters Janice Jones and Janet Jones; and daughter-in-law Ronesa Jones. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, a brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, ten grandchildren, (a special relationship she shared with Katina Harrold and Tose Jones), 29 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, Joelle Cintron Laracuente. She is also survived by her sisters with whom she shared a very special relationship; Iris Cowles, Carolyn Bailey, Elaine Henry and Joyce Evans.

A visitation will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg on Monday, March 7, 2022 beginning at 11:00 AM. A celebration of life will take place at 12:30 PM in the Nelsen Funeral Home Chapel, followed by interment at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
