

Arlane was born in Seattle, Washington on December 12, 1934 and was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Lawrence Hatton and Johanna Ubaghs Hatton.
She attended the University of Washington where she met and married James, her husband of 70 years. Arlane was a devoted military wife, helping her husband build a distinguished military career, while caring for all of her family’s needs through countless moves and deployments. She was also an avid volunteer and enjoyed crocheting. Above all else, Arlane was a loyal friend and an incredibly loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who lived to provide for others and took such great pride in her entire family.
Arlane is survived by her spouse, James “Jim” Piner, Jr.; sons, James Arthur Piner (Nancy) and Cameron Lee Piner (Debbie); grandchildren, Hannah Piner Fleming (William), James William Piner (Katie), Rebecca Emily Piner, and Catherine Anne Piner; and great-grandchildren, Theodore Lee Fleming, James William Piner, Jr., Jordan James Lee Piner, and George Arthur Piner.
Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
