

Barbara was born November 24, 1954 in Rantoul, Illinois to Harold and Judith Fellbaum. Her family moved to Bergen County, New Jersey and lived there for many years.
Barbara grew up with her brother, Bill and sister, Jean. She received a B.A. from Gettysburg College and received a graduate certificate in book publishing at Columbia University.
She moved to Williamsburg, VA in 1989 and has resided here ever since. She took great pride in being involved in serving her community through private acts and as a member of a variety of organizations including Soroptimists International and Hickory Neck Church. She was a realtor in the area for many years and taught high school history classes at Williamsburg Christian Academy. Most recently, she was a member at LifePointe Christian Church.
Barbara loved experiencing new things, traveling to exciting places and loving her friends and family with all her heart. She walked two marathons, traveled the world from California to Europe and beyond, and never missed an opportunity to bring a friend a meal, helping with a fundraiser or reaching out to someone in need whom she had never even met. She was an incredibly strong woman who took every opportunity to make others laugh and moved through life touching all who knew her.
Barbara is survived by her husband and best friend, Mark, and their children Sarah Nelson and her husband Daniel, Claudia DeChristoforo and her fiancé Dan Silva, Elizabeth Price and Bryan Paul; three grandchildren, Jayden, Ethan and Henry; sister Jean Hoffer and her husband Robert and their children Nathan, Abigail and Rebecca; brother Bill Fellbaum and his wife Phyllis and their children Mariah and Olivia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Crisis & Compassion Fund at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Newport News, VA, 23188. They serve the homeless population, amongst others in need, which is a cause that was dear to Barbara’s heart.
