Beth Bell Bogusky, a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, in Williamsburg, Virginia, surrounded by those who loved her. She was born on January 25, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio, the middle daughter of (Ret.) Colonel Herbert and Nancy Bell.
Beth grew up in a close and loving family with her sisters, Melinda Morgan and Margaret Brito. Her family remained at the heart of her world throughout her life, and she cherished deep, lifelong bonds with her extended family. Beth was the devoted godmother of her niece, Meredith Brito and a loving, generous aunt to Nancy and Emily Morgan, Ross Brito, and Carla and Kaitlyn Bogusky.
For more than forty years, she served as a Physician’s Assistant with Foxhall Internists in Washington, D.C. Her compassion, professionalism, and warmth touched countless lives during her decades of service.
While working a part-time job in Northern Virginia, Beth met the love of her life, Christopher Bogusky. They were married on October 9, 1999, at Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg—a place that would come to mean even more to them over the years.
Beth’s love of Williamsburg ran deep, inspired by her grandfather, A. Edwin Kendrew, Senior Vice President of Colonial Williamsburg during its historic restoration. In 2019, after retiring from Foxhall Internists, Beth and Christopher moved to Williamsburg to make their forever home in a historic house they lovingly restored together.
Beth was an avid gardener whose green thumb and creativity made her home garden the envy of the neighborhood. She volunteered with the Herb Society of America and Colonial Williamsburg, tending to several of its historic gardens with joy and pride. She also dedicated her time to the Heritage Humane Society of Williamsburg, reflecting her lifelong love of animals. Over the years, she cared for horses and golden retrievers, but her greatest companion was her beloved corgi, Raleigh, named after the Raleigh Tavern in Williamsburg. Raleigh brought endless joy and comfort to both Beth and Christopher.
Beth’s happiest moments were simple and serene—sitting on her deck with the sun on her face, surrounded by the flowers and birds she so loved. She faced life’s greatest challenges, including multiple battles with cancer, with strength, grace, and unshakable courage. Through it all, she found comfort in the love of her husband, her family, her love for the community, special times on Lake Winnipesaukee and her faith.
Her family and friends will remember her for her warmth, her laughter, and the light she brought into every room.
Beth is survived by her devoted husband, Christopher J. Bogusky; and her cherished corgi, Raleigh; along with her sisters, Melinda Morgan; and brother-in-law, John Morgan, Margaret Brito, and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, (Ret.) Colonel Herbert and Nancy Bell.
Beth would want to be remembered through a life well lived: “Let the sun shine on your face and live, laugh, and love every day.”
There will be a service at Bruton Parish Church, at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 1, 2025, as well as a “Celebration of Life” after the service at the Rockefeller Room at the Williamsburg Inn.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Beth’s memory to Colonial Williamsburg Landscaping Department, the Herb Society of America (https://www.herbsociety.org/), the Heritage Humane Society of Williamsburg (https://heritagehumane.org/), or Stand Up To Cancer (https://standuptocancer.org/).
