Boden O. Portwood

Boden “Port” Portwood, age 95, left this life peacefully in his home at Kingsmill on July 17, 2018. Survivors include his wife, Jane of 68 years; a brother, Dr. David Portwood of Geneva, NE; two daughters, Ann Elizabeth of North Platte, NE and Miriam Jane of Redwood City, CA; twin granddaughters, Jessica of Redwood City, CA and Jacquelyn of Half Moon Bay, CA; and one great-grandson of Redwood City, CA. Port was born in Hastings, NE to parents Guy and Florence Portwood, and grew up in Davenport, NE. He pledged Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at the University of Nebraska and graduated Cum Laude in 1947. He spent three years in the South Pacific in the U.S. Army. After a 33 year merchandising career with Sears Roebuck in Lincoln, NE, Kansas City, MO and Houston, TX, he retired. Port and Jane moved to Williamsburg and enjoyed living on the Kingsmill Pond with wonderful neighbors, and great golf buddies at Odd Lots, and the Ball Hawks at Kingsmill. It was also an extraordinary place for him to live and paint watercolors. A celebration of Port’s life will be held at a later date.
