Bonnie Mae Boden, 81, of Williamsburg, passed away on June 16, 2025. Born on March 17, 1944 in Chicago, IL, she was preceded in death by her parents, Ferdinand Burdine and Catherine Horstman, as well as her sister, Barbara Bremer.
After attending Butler and Indiana University, Bonnie completed her master’s degree in counseling from the University of Illinois. She retired in 2011 from private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia Beach. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time outdoors, watching wildlife, riding horses, camping, kayaking, biking, hiking, tennis, and outdoor concerts. Bonnie also was known to enjoy live theatre, symphonies, jazz, and classical music. She also loved ice cream, flowers, tv dramas and especially spending time with her family and friends.
A member of King of Glory Lutheran Church, she was also a founder of the Saturday Women’s Group.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of seven years, James T. Boden; her son and daughter-in-law James and Andria Youngberg; grandsons Dylan, Tyler, and Evan (Jessica) Youngberg; nieces Jennifer Bremer and Laura Bremer (David Kraska); grandnephews Calvin Sappington and Ethan Kraska; and grandniece Arja Kraska.
She is also survived by brother-in-law Ronald (Cindy) Boden; nephew Christian (Tina) Boden; and the loving stepfamily who embraced her as their own, along with their children and grandchildren.
Bonnie always cherished her long-time friendships and her newer relationships in the Virginia Beach and Williamsburg communities.

A service will be held at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 4897 Longhill Rd., Williamsburg, on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 2:00pm.
