Buddy Jewell Dye, age 82, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Dye; daughter, Karen Sobczak; his parents, and three other siblings.
He was a fanatic of all sports, especially being a “true blue” fan of the University of Michigan. A family man, Buddy was devoted to his wife of 62 years before her passing in 2023. He was a retired builder, having made custom homes for many years. Buddy was a warm and selfless man, always helping whenever someone needed it. His kindness and inviting nature will be deeply missed.
Buddy is survived by his son, Steven Dye (Sharon); and grandchildren, Mark Sobczak (Emily), Jacob Sobczak, Glori King, Kasey Dye, and Bailey Dye (Samantha).
A visitation for Buddy will be held Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, Virginia. A service will occur Monday, September 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Nelsen Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park, 130 King William Drive, Williamsburg, Virginia.
