Nelsen Williamsburg
Carey T. Myers, a longtime resident of Williamsburg, passed away on January 15, 2019.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy; daughter, Jean Myers Royalty (Stephen B. Royalty); son, John D. Myers; and grandson, Kevin S. Royalty.
Carey served for 22 years in the U.S. Marine Corps before retiring as Master Sergeant. One of his favorite Marine Corps stories is when he had the opportunity to share a smoke on base with actor Gary Cooper. He continued his career with the Marine Corps by working for the Department of Defense, retiring after 20 more years of service.
He loved God, family, and the Marine Corps. He was a member of Walnut Hills Baptist Church, enjoyed gardening, and working outdoors.
