Cathy Jean Reck

She was born to David and Mary Jane Cairns on October 1st, 1949 in Aurora Illinois, the third of nine children. She graduated from East Aurora High School in 1967, attended Concordia College - River Forest Illinois and received her bachelor's degree from Millikin University in Decatur Illinois.

Cathy met Ron Reck in 1967 and they were married in 1970. She is survived by her husband and children; Kristen (Doug) of Temecula California and Timothy (Rachel) of West Hartford Connecticut). She is also survived by four grandchildren, Alison, Owen, Grady and Emmett) and, by eight siblings (Mary Ann, Linda, David {Mickey,, Christine, Nan, Tom, Laurie and Peggy).

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Mary Jane.

A career Coast Guard family, Cathy and children supported Ron in numerous locations throughout the United States including communities in Michigan, Louisiana, Florida, Alabama, Maryland, California, Kansas, New York, West Virginia and Illinois.

Cathy's greatest passion was her children and grandchildren - of whom she was exceptionally proud. She also dearly loved her siblings with their childhood experiences providing a wealth of great memories.

A memorial service celebrating Cathy's life will be held on April 5th, 2025 at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Williamsburg Virginia where she will also be interred.

Memorials, if desired, may be given to the King of Glory School capital campaign.
