Shirley,
Sorry to be late with this but I just heard the very sad news. You were both always very kind and funny to me and my children. remembering our relationship reminded me of telling ghost stories to your children and you giving extra cookies to my children. Life is an endless cycle but I take this moment to remember my cousin who was always the leader of our generation. He is missed and I hope you and the family find comfort in knowing what a profound impact Charles had on so many.

Shirley,Kerri,Brian,&Traci and Larry & Dana, Please know how sad we were to learn of Charlie's passing yesterday via Becky Dozier's message to the family. We knew Charles was fighting medcal issues very hard, as he shared with me at Cousin Phoebe's family reunion in 2005. He was blessed with marrying Shirley and sharing a beautiful  family together. My memories of Charles, Larry, Aunt Garnett, and Uncle Wiley from years ago are still vivid. We enjoyed their visits so much, whether in VA or NC. You and your family are in our prayers now, as well as the future, as you cope with the loss of this wonderful husband, father, grand father, and brother. We will miss our dear cousin. I am so sorry to learn of Charlie's passing. I pray that God watch over the family now and in the days that follow.  I had the pleasure of reporting to Charlie early in my career.  He cared about us as individuals and was a great boss.  I will always remember his smile, his charm, and how he would tap his feet when he was excited and pleased during our project presentations.

The Porter Family LOVED Mr. Charles and still loves the entire Jenkins family. We were great neighbors in the Stonebridge subdivision of Chesapeake, Virginia. I pray for your deep comfort and strength, Jenkins, during this time.
