Charlotte dedicated her life to nursing and healing. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1972, followed by a Master’s of Science in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Hampton University in 1985. Her distinguished career included serving as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatric/Mental Health at Eastern State Hospital from 1985 to 2012. Later, as a self-employed Yoga Therapist, she continued to touch lives with her expertise and compassion.
A devoted member of the Williamsburg Unitarian Universalists, Charlotte found peace and community there. She cherished her yoga practice, but her greatest joy came from traveling and creating lasting memories with her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Henion of Williamsburg, VA; her brothers, Arnie Lorentson and wife Nancy, Carl Lorentson and wife Elizabeth; her son Nathan Gumaer and wife Lisa; and her cherished grandchildren, Kyle, Megan, and Peter Gumaer.
A celebration of Charlotte's life and scattering of ashes will be held at a later date. Details will be announced by the family.
Charlotte's kindness, dedication, and loving spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
