Daniel (Dan) George Jenkins, MD, passed away on March 15, 2026. He was born on February 5, 1946, in Latrobe, PA to the late George and Virginia Jenkins. Dan will join his brother, Ronald Jenkins, who passed in 2021. Dan attended St. Vincent Preparatory school and graduated from the College of William & Mary in 1968. He became an OBGYN after attending MCV for medical school and, later, UNC at Chapel Hill for his residency.
In March 1968, Dan met Cynthia (Cyndy) Price, and it was love at first sight. They wed in August 1969, and he remained a loving and devoted husband, married for 53 years, until Cyndy passed in October 2022. They moved to Williamsburg in 1977, and with the assistance of several partners, established Williamsburg Obstetrics and Gynecology, a successful practice. Dan practiced medicine until his retirement in 2016. Dan and his legacy will continue through the many children he helped to birth, and he loved being a physician. Dan had a unique blend of humor, compassion, and medical skills which he used to support mothers, children, and families. Dan’s family often joked that he delivered half of the babies in Williamsburg.
Dan was a Bon Vivant who loved to travel, enjoyed fine food and wine, and was a consummate host. He was a dedicated sports fan of the UNC Tar Heels and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also enjoyed playing and watching golf, inspired by his father’s love of the game.
Dan is survived by his sons, Christopher Todd (Suzanne) and Jonathan (Ann Marie), as well as his grandchildren Ethan, Lauren, Ian, and Ryan. He was a devoted and proud grandfather!
Dan attended Bruton Parish Church and served as a chalice bearer for several years. He will join Cyndy in a private interment in the Bruton Parish churchyard. A celebration of Dan’s life will be scheduled at a later date. Donations in Dan’s name may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
