Paula, i last spoke with Darryl this past Christmas, and as always , the conversation and his upbeat attitude was inspiring and made me smile. I had the pleasure and honor to work with him since I arrived  in 1994and we always laughed and smiled.  I tried to call him last night to catch up and when phone went to VM , it prompted my concern, so with some calls, I just found out about his death. Brought immediate tears, but as you know , he had a life well lived, and it was always a pleasure to see you as well. I always enjoyed our conversations throughout the years when we were in surgery together at Sentara Careplex and Mary Immaculate Hospital. He was a wonderful doctor and genuine person. My deepest condolences for your profound loss!

I had the pleasure to work with Dr. Houston at West Creek surgery Center.  He was an intelligent, caring, and thoughtful anesthesiologist making the patient comfortable and putting family members at ease.

We often had fun conversations about family and cooking!   He was so enthusiastic about brining the thanksgiving turkey and preparing for family barbecues.

I am so saddened by his loss and he will be greatly missed and remembered for his beautiful smile!

I worked alongside Dr. Houston as an anesthesiologist and I cherish every moment I had learning from him. He was an amazing physician and an awesome person. I am so sorry for your loss.

In all of my years of being a Registered Nurse, Dr. Houston stands out in my mind as one of the most hard-working, professional, patient-centered, and kind physicians that I have ever worked with. I looked forward to the days that we got to work together; he would always take the time to teach and explain. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and he will be missed deeply. He left our world a better place, for sure!!

How sad I am to hear of Dr. Houston's passing.As a CRNA, I had the privilege of working with him at Mary Immaculate Hospital, Sentara Careplex -Hampton and BonSecours Ambulatory Surgery Center in Virginia Beach.He was a very talented anesthesiologist and also one that I enjoyed taking care of patients with as my attending physician.What a loss to the anesthesia community in the Richmond and Tidewater areas of VA.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Houston's passing. He was such a bright shining personality in the operating room and I always enjoyed our conversations about Williamsburg and our favorite places there. He will truly be missed <3 Deepest condolences to his family, of whom he spoke so lovingly about. 

Daryl was a kind, compassionate anesthesiologist and excelled at his skill.  His positive attitude was always a breath of fresh air in the recovery room.  We shared a friend, another hand surgeon in Atlanta, where Daryl had worked.  Daryl will be missed by many.

We did not know you but we did know your mom, Barbara.  We pray for God's comfort for the entire family for such as time as this.  There is nothing that can be said to comfort anyone in the loss of their child.
