He is survived by his wife, Kathy Graves, of Williamsburg; his daughter, Kelly Graves, of Florham Park, New Jersey; his sister, Carol McCall, of New Orleans; and his brother, Richard Graves, of Hammond, Louisiana. He grew up in New Orleans and spent most of his adult life in New York, where he worked in the financial and health care industries.
He was a proud alumnus of Louisiana State University and Tulane Business School. An avid sailor, he loved racing model boats at Larchmont Yacht Club in New York and Kingsmill Yacht Club in Williamsburg.
He approached life with wit, strong opinions, and a sense of fun. He was always ready with a joke, and his family will remember him with love.
