Born in Greensburg, PA in 1931, Doris received her RN degree from West Penn Hospital in 1952. That same year she eloped to marry her high school sweetheart Charles R. Wendell. Charles predeceased her in 2014.
She was known for her warmth, kindness and sense of humor. She selflessly devoted herself to the care of her father, Avery McClintock, and husband, Charles in their declining years. A long- time member of the Methodist church, she modeled Christian values throughout her life.
Doris is survived by her two sons, Donald Wendell of Bowling Green, OH and David Wendell of Newport, RI. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Avery and Katherine Wendell, who brought her great joy.
There will be no public service due to Covid-19 restrictions.
