

He was born in Denver, Colorado on March 5, 1961 and was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Bertha Bingham.
In 1979, he graduated from Evergreen High School in Colorado and then received his Bachelor’s in industrial engineering from Austin Peay State University in Tennessee. During college, Edgar enrolled in ROTC, starting off an accomplished military career during which he did extensive training and received many awards and certificates. Edgar retired after over 30 years as a Military Officer in the US Army and as the CNU night manager.
A member of the Daybreak Church, he was dedicated to the Lord and his church. He enjoyed music, especially playing the accordion. Ed had a deep interest in geology, collecting rocks and going gold panning. His other interests included trains, Star Trek, reading, motorcycles, and burning everything on the grill.
Edgar loved spending time with his family and friends, and taking his dog Hunter for rides.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Bingham; sons, Eric Dewey and Matthew Bingham; daughters, Lisa Dodge (Jason Dodge), Christine Bingham (Ryan Devanney), and Abigail Bingham (Ashley Copeland); grandchildren, Victoria Dodge, Harper Dodge, and Liam Devanney; brother, William Bingham; brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Hunter.
A visitation for Edgar will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, Virginia, with a service to follow at 3:00 PM. A reception will take place after the service.
