She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Gordon; Archie Carlyle, her first husband; her mother, Bertie A. Flowers; her father, William A. Barnes; her step-father, George T. Flowers, Sr.; and her brother, George T. Flowers, Jr.
Edith was a homemaker, who enjoyed crocheting, gardening, ceramics and cross-stitching.
She is survived by her son, Gary A. Gordon; her sister, Pat Teague; and extended families of Aycock and Barnes.
A visitation will take place on Sunday, April 26 from 1 to 2pm at Thomas Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash St. N, Wilson, NC 27896, followed by a service at 2pm. Interment to follow immediately after the service at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
