Eleanor A. Walker passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in 1912 to the late Harry and Ella Walker of New York State. She was also preceded in death by her brother, George W. Walker and her nephew, Captain Harry C. Walker, USN (Ret).
She is survived by her niece, Dana Lee Walker Wasserman of Newport News, VA; great nephew, George (Skip) Walker and his spouse, Laura of Portsmouth, VA; great niece, Lee Walker Shepherd of Rockwall, TX and her spouse, Jack; and great nephew, H. Craig Walker of Charlotte, NC.
Eleanor became a world traveler at the tender age of 18 and continued that passion with her longtime companion, Marion Simmons, until Marion passed in 2007. Eleanor’s last excursion was to the Panama Canal in 2013, at the age of 100. She was a truly amazing lady.
She was a faithful member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. Burial will be private.
