Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Steele Wall

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Patrick Wall, in 2004, and her son, Michael Patrick Wall, in 1989.

Betty was a homemaker and dedicated mother of five children. She was a resident of Ford’s Colony and active in many social clubs. She was a long time parishioner of St. Bede Catholic Church.

She was the youngest of five children born to Francis Anthony Steele and Agnes Frances Webkes Steele in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was raised and educated in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and later attended Nazareth College in Bardstown, Kentucky.

After marrying the love of her life in 1955, she and John resided in the Radburn section of Fair Lawn, New Jersey and later in Danville, Virginia before retiring to Williamsburg in 1998.

Betty is survived by her four children: John Douglas Wall, Patrick Francis Wall, Dianne Elizabeth Wall and Richard Christopher Wall; seven grandchildren: Erin Ashley Wall, Candace Elizabeth Wall, John Douglas Wall II, Mary Elizabeth Wall, Michael Christopher Wall, John Patrick Wall and Joseph Francis Wall; and one great grandchild Stella Maris Esker.

Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday evening June 14, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, Virginia. A Catholic mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday June 15, 2015 at St. Bede Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Williamsburg.
